The “Southern Region Water Resources Office, Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs” was established officially on March 28, 2002 pursuant to/in accordance with the Organization Act of Region Water Resources Office of Water Resources Agency under the Ministry of Economic Affairs promulgated on January 25, 2002 and approved by the Executive Yuan on March 19, 2002.
Establishment Of Southern Region Water Resources Office, Water Conservancy Agency, MOEA
The office became a unit under the Water Conservancy Agency of MOEA on July 1, 1999 after the organizational structure and role of the Taiwan Provincial Government changed. Its full name was changed to “Southern Region Water Resources Office, Water Conservancy Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs” and its establishment announced on the same day. The Provisional Regulations Governing the Organization of Regional Water Resources Offices was filed at the order of the Executive Yuan with the Examination Yuan under Kao-Tai-Chuan-Fa-3 No. 1807164 dated September 15, 1999.
Establishment Of Southern Water Resources Office, Taiwan Provincial Government
In order to strengthen water resources development and management, the “Southern Region Water Resources Office, Taiwan Provincial Government” was created on January 23, 1998. This office was created by merging former agencies including the “Agongdian Reservoir Management Committee”, the “ Zengwen Reservoir Management Bureau, Taiwan Provincial Government”, and the “Southern Water Resources Engineering Office, Taiwan Provincial Water Conservancy Bureau”.
